CARSON -- San Francisco 49ers left tackle Joe Staley was ruled out of Sunday’s game against the Los Angeles Chargers after sustaining a right knee injury in the second quarter.
Staley, a six-time Pro Bowl performer and the longest-tenured 49ers player, was injured on a play in which he rolled up on behind when quarterback C.J. Beathard was hit while delivering a pass.
Rookie right tackle Mike McGlinchey also briefly exited the game in the second quarter with a knee injury. McGlinchey sat out the first series of the second half, but he returned on the 49ers' possession with 10:28 remaining in the third quarter.
