Injury report: Raiders LB Mack misses padded practice

ALAMEDA -– Raiders edge rusher Khalil Mack is one tough customer. He hasn’t missed many snaps despite some nagging ailments. When asked about his health after a particularly physical contest, Mack brushed off the impact of obvious pain.

“I’m always fine,” he said. “I’m a robot.”

Even a robot can break down sometimes. Mack took Wednesday’s padded practice off, which ruined perfect attendance this season.

He missed time with a hamstring strain, though its level of debilitation remains uncertain. The Raiders will announce their participation report later Wednesday afternoon.

Mack walked off the field gingerly after sacking quarterback Geno Smith late in Sunday’s 34-20 victory over the New York Jets and did not return. Head coach Jack Del Rio was asked about Mack after the game, and didn’t seem troubled by the edge rusher’s health. Del Rio said Monday he wasn’t concerned by any injuries coming out of Sunday’s game.

As expected, linebacker Neiron Ball (knee) and safety Charles Woodon (shoulder) missed practice. Woodson has been skipping padded practices since dislocating his right shoulder in Week 1.

Defensive back T.J. Carrie was limited with shoulder and knee ailments.

The official injury report for both teams comes out on Friday.
