Injury report: Raiders C Hudson back on shelf

ALAMEDA – Raiders head coach Jack Del Rio expected tight end Lee Smith to be ready to go this practice week. Sure enough, he was on the field Tuesday working with a heavy bandage over his surgically repaired right wrist.

Smith’s return was the only positive on the injury front.

Center Rodney Hudson remained out with an ankle sprain aggravated during Sunday’s loss to the Detroit Lions. If he misses game time, Tony Bergstrom will step in as he did for a Week 10 game against Minnesota.

Running back Taiwan Jones (knee) and cornerback Keith McGill (ankle) missed practice nursing Sunday injuries. McGill was seen in a walking boot. Jones didn’t make an appearance in the locker room when it was open to the press.

Linebacker Ray-Ray Armstrong was waived before Tuesday’s practice, and they were down another one with Neiron Ball still out with a knee sprain. He has missed four consecutive games with injury.

The Raiders have adjusted their practice week to lighten Thursday’s load in honor of the Thanksgiving holiday. As such, the team is not required to release a participation report on a Tuesday. The Raiders will provide practice status updates beginning on Wednesday.
