SANTA CLARA –- Running back Carlos Hyde said his injured left foot will heal on its own even as he continues to play.
Before Thursday’s game, Hyde told CBS sideline reporter Tracy Wolfson that he has a stress fracture. When asked afterward if he indeed has a stress fracture, Hyde said, “Something like that.”
Hyde carried just 11 times for 40 yards on Thursday in the 49ers’ 20-3 loss to the Seattle Seahawks. He said the condition will get better, though he described the pain he felt Thursday night as a "six" on a scale of 1-to-10.

“Just keep doing what I’ve been doing,” Hyde said. “Trying stay off of it, getting treatment daily. Resting it. It’ll heal on its own.”

When asked if there’s any risk of making the injury worse, Hyde said, “Anything can happen in a football game. I could go out there and break my leg. I just take it day-by-day and stay off of it as much as possible and let it rest and prepare each week for that game by staying off of it.”
Coach Jim Tomsula declined to provide any details about Hyde’s injury after suggesting earlier in the week it was just a bruise.

“He has a foot issue, and I don’t get into the specifics of injuries,” Tomsula said.
