The NFL offseason marks the time of year that most teams look for a franchise quarterback - someone to build around for the future.
With so few difference-makers in the league at the position, the search remains constant for many.
Jeff Fisher and the Los Angeles Rams are one of the clubs that have seen multiple players start behind center. Just over the past three seasons, Sam Bradford, Kellen Clemens, Nick Foles, Austin Davis, Shaun Hill and Case Keenum have all had their shot.

SIGN UP HERE This instability could lead the Rams to examine the incoming quarterback class, and Fisher, the team's head coach, had nothing but good things to say about Cal quarterback Jared Goff.
"What you like about him is his accuracy, No. 1, his decision making," Fisher said of Goff on the TK Show on Wednesday. "Makes really good decisions. He's got excellent footwork, and he's mobile. And he can extend plays. And that's what you're looking for at the position right now in the National Football League. He's going to have a great career."

"I think it's a good quarterback group, top to bottom," Fisher told Tim Kawakami. "I think you'll see quarterbacks taken throughout the draft."

The Rams hold the No. 15 overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft.
The Cleveland Browns, which pick third, and San Francisco 49ers, which pick seventh, may also be eyeing quarterbacks in the first round.
But Fisher has a starter right now regardless.
"When we finished up the season, finishing up with Case Keenum, was really happy with what Case did. ...He was just a ball away, throw the ball away, and a kick in San Francisco in overtime from being 5-0 as a starter. He really came on. Has a lot of ability, and he's a great leader. And he's got that huddle presence, and he just finds ways to win games. He'll come back as our starter.
"We've got three [quarterbacks] on the roster, and hey, we're looking," Fisher added. "Quarterback is really, really important. Can't have instability at the position. We'll entertain the draft options, the free agent options, and go from there."
Goff, who elected to forego his senior season at Cal, is considered by most analysts a projected Top 10 pick.
"I'm going to be happy wherever I go," Goff told the Bay Area News Group on Tuesday night. "I want to go to a team that wants me, that's going to really take me in and use me in the correct way in a way I can be used successfully.
"I want a team that I can be special with."
