Jim Harbaugh just turned 52 years old.

He's had some terrific calendar years of football over the course of his lifetime.

But if his Michigan Wolverines knock off the Florida Gators on New Year's Day (which is in 2016), 2015 will trump them all.

"I've searched my feelings, I've thought long and hard about it. If we win this game, it will be my favorite year in football," Harbaugh told reporters on Thursday morning.

Harbaugh's 2014 year in football was a rough one.

On Jan. 19, his 49ers suffered a crushing loss in the NFC Championship Game in Seattle.

About a month later, Harbaugh had to refure a report that he was almost traded to the Cleveland Browns.

After going 13-3 in 2011, 11-4-1 in 2012 and 12-4 in 2013, Harbaugh's 2014 49ers went 8-8.

Shortly after San Francisco's season finale on Dec. 28, the 49ers issued a statement saying the team and Harbaugh mutually agreed to part ways.

Two days later, Harbaugh was introduced as the head coach at Michigan, his alma mater.

The Wolverines, who went 5-7 in 2014, received only two votes in the 2015 preseason AP Top 25 poll.

Harbaugh led Michigan to a 9-3 record and his team is ranked 14th in the country.

According to ESPN, Harbaugh's 2016 recruiting class is ranked No. 5.

Meanwhile, the 49ers are 4-11 and sport the worst point-differential (-152) in the NFL.
