ALAMEDA -- Quentin Groves was acquired by the Raiders in an April, 2010 trade as part of Oakland's overhaul of its linebackers unit, along with Kamerion Wimbley and draft pick Rolando McClain.Two full seasons later, and having lost his starting job on the weak side to another trade acquisition in Aaron Curry, Groves believes he could have played his final game for the Raiders."I might sign to another team next year," Groves announced unprovoked on Monday. "But at the end of the day Im still a Raider. Deep down in my heart I'm still a Raider.You know, this league is funny. You can be here one year and gone the next. I could be here one day and gone the next. That's the funny thing about this league. I pray I'm back though."Groves, was a second-round pick of Jacksonville in 2008 but played out of position there as a defensive end. He had a rebirth, of sorts, as a first-year member of the Raiders in starting 12 games and totaling a career-high 40 tackles with two passes defensed, an interception, two fumble recoveries and a safety.But this year, he lost his job after Curry was picked up from Seattle five games into the season and became a relatively expensive special teams standout."Yeah, I have no hard feeling toward the organization for what they did," Groves said. "They went out and searched and found a better player, who's a more natural hitter, put him in that spot and he did great so, I have no doubts, no regrets, nothing sad to say about that."Groves finished the 2011 season with 24 tackles and might have upped his value on the market with his adaptability."From a business mind, yeah," he said. "Because in this game you have to be versatile. Because they're always looking to replace you. Always looking to bring in somebody younger or more experienced in and stuff like that."
