ALAMEDA -- Raiders linebacker Travis Goethel is headed to season-ending Injured Reserve with an ACL injury, coach Dennis Allen announced during his Monday media conference.Goethel was injured covering a punt in the first quarter of the Raiders' 55-20 loss at Baltimore on Sunday. He stayed down on the turf clutching his left knee.It will be the second time in his three-year career that Goethel will end a season on IR as a knee injury suffered in training camp last year ended his season. As a rookie sixth-round draft pick out of Arizona State in 2010, he missed the first eight games with a back injury that required surgery.Goethel had two tackles, both at Miami, entering the Baltimore game. He struggled mightily as the Raiders' backup long snapper in the season opener against San Diego with the trouble he had getting the ball back to punter Shane Lechler as he had not long-snapped since high school. Fullback Owen Schmitt, presumably, is the new backup long snapper to Pro Bowler Jon Condo, who was concussed in that season opener.
