After nearly six years as the Raiders' general manager, Reggie McKenzie has been fired, the team confirmed shortly before coach Jon Gruden's Monday press conference.
"We are grateful for everything Reggie has done for this organization as a player, executive and member of the Raider family," the team said in a statement. "We wish the best for Reggie, June and the entire McKenzie family."
A source confirmed to NBC Sports California's Scott Bair on Monday morning that the move had been made.

In their statement, the Raiders announced they will begin an immediate search for a new "front office executive."
McKenzie met with his scouts Monday where he told them the team had fired him, NFL Media's Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero reported.
Rumors started to swirl Sunday that McKenzie's time with the Raiders would end after the season. NFL Media reported that McKenzie was given the option to stay through the end of the 2018 season, but he decided to leave now.
McKenzie was hired by the Raiders in January 2012. He drafted cornerstone players Derek Carr, Khalil Mack and Amari Cooper, but he has seen coach Jon Gruden trade the latter two this season.
