Giants players wear 49ers hats before game

The San Francisco Giants took their support of Alex Smith and the San Francisco 49ers to another level before Friday's game against the Padres.

Every Giants player had a San Francisco 49ers hat in their locker, courtesy of Ryan Theriot who made a trip to the store before the game and bought one for everyone.

Bruce Bochy was told that Theriot bought the hats in support of him, in which Bochy responded with, "Well, I'd rather have their wallets support me."

Bochy wore his own 49ers hat to his pregame press conference before Thursday's game against the Rockies, after Alex Smith was given a warning for wearing a Giants hat to his postgame press conference following the 49ers' win over the Lions on Sunday.

"I've heard from quite a few people, actually," Bochy said, referring to Thursday's media session. "It's all positive. Not one negative one ... That doesn't happen a lot for managers."

Many of the Giants players wore their 49ers hats to hit in the indoor batting cage prior the game, but were not allowed to wear them out to batting practice.

The entire team also signed a Giants hat for Alex Smith.
