SANTA CLARA – Tight end George Kittle’s availability for the 49ers’ game Monday night against the Seattle Seahawks is in question.
The 49ers have one of their biggest home games since the opening of Levi’s Stadium in 2014, and they might not have their most-explosive offensive weapon.
49ers coach Kyle Shanahan told reporters Thursday that Kittle is day-to-day with knee and ankle issues, and there won't be a decision on the tight end's status until the end of the week.

The 49ers (8-0) face the Seahawks (7-2) on Monday night in a pivotal NFC West matchup.
Kittle sustained a left knee injury on the 49ers’ first play of their game last Thursday when Arizona Cardinals defensive end Chandler Jones’s helmet struck Kittle in the knee on a running play.
Kittle managed to play 49 of the team’s 70 offensive snaps, but got to the point in the fourth quarter where it was determined the team had a better chance with Ross Dwelley on the field.

“I tried to give my team everything I could, and in the fourth quarter, I really couldn’t go any more,” Kittle said after the game.
“I talked to my coach about it, and we made a decision about it. Definitely thought Dwelley was definitely more mobile than I was in the fourth quarter.”
