Four fined in Lions-Raiders game

The Raiders and Lions are the two most penalized teams in the NFL. It shouldn't be surprising, then, that after their weekend matchup, four different players were tagged with league fines.

Raiders safety Jerome Boyd was fined 20,000 for an illegal blind-side block on a kick return. The play negated a nice return by Tyvon Branch, and Boyd was seen laughing on the sidelines after the penalty put the Raiders on their own five-yard line.

If his sideline behavior didn't make it clear enough, Boyd tweeted his thoughts on the fine Friday.

Jerome Boyd What's the point of even playing football to get fined 20,000 for a legal but hard hit!!!!!!! Might as well put flags instead of pads onUS

Linebacker Aaron Curry also picked up a fine, his a 7,500 bill for unsportsmanlike conduct. Tommy Kelly sacked Matthew Stafford, who fumbled the ball right to Curry. Curry walked it into the endzone for a fourth-quarter touchdown and proceeded to unload a furious punching combination into the goalpost padding, drawing the unsportsmanlike conduct penalty.

Two Lions were also fined.

Cliff Avril and Stephen Tulloch were each docked 15,000 for horse-collar tackles. Their penalties helped the Raiders march down the field for their first touchdown.
