Foerster leaves 49ers to join Gase's staff with Dolphins

Chris Foerster, who served as the 49ers’ offensive line coach last season, has joined new coach Adam Gase with the Miami Dolphins, the club announced Tuesday.

Foerster was hired as part of Jim Tomsula’s staff last year to install the team’s new zone-blocking scheme.

The 49ers’ offensive line struggled, as quarterbacks Colin Kaepernick and Blaine Gabbert were sacked a combined 53 times. The 49ers ranked 21st in the NFL in rushing, averaging 96.5 yards per game.

Foerster is the second member of the coaching staff to land a job elsewhere.
