Ex-49er Frank Gore joins legendary NFL list with 15K-plus career yards

Frank Gore now stands among the legends of the game.

The former 49ers running back and current Buffalo Bills workhorse has been the picture of consistency during his lengthy NFL career. On Sunday, Gore joined a rare list when he eclipsed the 15,000-yard mark for his career.

Gore is fourth all time in career rushing yards, sitting behind Hall of Famers Emmitt Smith (18,355), Walter Payton (16,726) and Barry Sanders (15,269).

Gore gained a large chunk of those yards as a member of the 49ers. During his 10-year run by the Bay, Gore rushed for 11,073 yards and 64 touchdowns before moving on to the Indianapolis Colts in 2015.

Even at age 36, Gore continues to be a physical, bruising runner, and he'll keep on running all the way to Canton, Ohio.
