Colin Kaepernick appears to not agree with Travis Scott's Super Bowl show

There are new developments coming from Colin Kaepernick’s camp regarding Travis Scott’s agreement to perform in the Super Bowl halftime show.

The former 49ers quarterback has been on social media confirming that there is not mutual understanding or respect between the two.

Kaepernick’s girlfriend Nessa Diab, and others close to the former quarterback, have been vocal on social media refuting Variety’s original report that both Scott and Kaepernick had reached an understanding about the performance. Kaepernick has not made a statement of his own but has retweeted their comments on his own account.

Several artists have boycotted performing at the Super Bowl including Jay-Z, Rhianna and Cardi B. as a result of Kaepernick remaining unemployed by the league since the end of the 2016 season.

Scott reportedly held out from agreeing to perform with Maroon 5 until the NFL agreed to donate $500,000 to Dream Corps, a nonprofit focused on social justice initiatives.

Dream Corps is the organization that received money from the NFL as a result of the Player’s Coalition agreement with the league in 2017. Eagles safety Malcolm Jenkins led the group with Anquan Boldin through the process.

Disagreements between the group and former 49ers safety Eric Reid, Chargers tackle Russell Okung and New York Giants safety Michael Thomas caused them to withdraw their involvement from the group.

The two sides still do not agree with each other. Some of their differences reside in Kaepernick’s lack of inclusion in the group as well as his lack of employment by the league. Because of that history, a large donation to Dream Corps would not appease Kaepernick or garner favor.
