GLENDALE, Ariz. -- Running back Carlos Hyde, who saw limited practice time during the week due to a hip contusion, is active and will start for the 49ers on Sunday against the Arizona Cardinals.

Hyde entered the day ranked third in the NFL with 253 yards rushing on 49 carries for a 5.2-yard average.

Rookie defensive lineman Solomon Thomas is scheduled to make his second NFL start and should see more action with Tank Carradine going on injured reserve due to a high ankle sprain.

The Cardinals will be short-handed on the offensive line, as the club will not have the services of three key offensive linemen: left tackle D.J. Humphries (knee) and guards Mike Iupati (elbow) and Alex Boone (chest). Iupati is on injured reserve.
