The Arizona Cardinals on Tuesday added yet another former 49ers player to their roster.

Guard Alex Boone, who started four seasons for the 49ers from 2012 to ’15, agreed to a one-year contract with the Cardinals, the team announced.

The Minnesota Vikings released Boone on Saturday as part of their cuts to the regular-season roster limit of 53 players.

Boone, 30, entered the NFL in 2009 as an undrafted free agent from Ohio State. He spent his entire rookie season on the 49ers’ practice squad. The next year, he was inactive for most of the season, appearing in just one game.

Boone served as a backup tackle for the 2011 season before moving into the starting lineup in 2012 at right guard.

The Cardinals’ addition of Boone means the team now has six former 49ers, including another starting guard, Mike Iupati. The Cardinals' roster also includes safety Antoine Bethea, backup quarterback Blaine Gabbert, kicker Phil Dawson and punter Andy Lee.
