MINNEAPOLIS -- Sure, the Raiders have missed Darren McFadden's explosiveness and versatility out of the backfield. But with Michael Bush proving himself more than a capable replacement, have they missed out on any productivity?
Since replacing the injured McFadden in Oakland's backfield one series into the Raiders' game against Kansas City on Oct. 23, Bush has rushed for a combined 461 yards on 96 carries and two touchdowns over four games. He has also caught nine passes for 150 yards and a score over that same time frame.RELATED: Michael Bush 2011 game logs
Sunday, though, while rumbling for a game-high 109 yards on a career high-tying 30 carries in the Raiders' 27-21 victory, Bush lost a fumble with six minutes to play that allowed Minnesota to score quickly and close within six points."The penetration was quick," Bush said of his turnover. "I can't blame that on anybody else but myself. I haven't lost the ball in over year now so I kind of take that personally. Next time, I just need to wrap it up tighter."It was a clutch time in the game to lose that ball."But with the way Bush has filled in for McFadden and his sprained right foot, he's been just as clutch for the Raiders.
