Broncos trade Demaryius Thomas to Texans for two NFL draft picks

The AFC West is losing another Pro Bowl wide receiver, and the state of Texas is gaining another.

One week after the Raiders traded away Amari Cooper to Dallas Cowboys for a first-round pick, the Broncos have dealt four-time Pro Bowl wide receiver Demaryius Thomas and a seventh-round pick to the Houston Texans for fourth-round and seventh-round selections.

The teams announced the deal at 11:04 a.m. PT on Tuesday.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport was first to report the news. The draft picks involved in the deal were first reported by ESPN's Adam Schefter.

The interesting thing is that the Broncos and Texans play each other this Sunday in Denver.

Thomas, a first-round pick in 2010, is having a productive year, with 36 catches for 402 yards and three touchdowns.

The Texans needed a wide receiver after dynamic pass-catcher Will Fuller tore his right ACL last week.
