Blackstock preparing to start at MLB for Raiders

ALAMEDA -- With starting middle linebacker Rolando McClain limited in practice Thursday with an injured ankle and Ricky Brown placed on season-ending Injured Reserve this past weekend, Darryl Blackstock has been preparing as if he will start in McClain's place Sunday against Cleveland."Just trying to fit in with the guys, because I know they're so used to Rolando, they've got to get used to me," Blackstock said Thursday. "So I've just got to fit in and fill the void. You just prepare a little harder, study a little bit more. Just want to make sure you're on point and accountable, because if my number's called, you want to step up to the plate."

Blackstock was one of the Raiders' feel-good stories of training camp, making the team after playing in the UFL for Chuck Bresnahan in 2010. Blackstock previously played in the NFL in 2008 with Cincinnati. So is he preparing to start?"I mean, whatever it is, I want to be ready," Blackstock said. "You say that every week but it looks likely, but who knows. Just want to make sure I'm prepared."
