Antonio Brown, possible Seahawks target, says he’s retiring from NFL again

The Antonio Brown saga continues. Or it's over. Or it's on pause.

I don't know, man. My head hurts.

Brown, once again, announced his retirement from the NFL on Monday.

Any connection between Brown and the Raiders is long gone. The ugly saga is a time Jon Gruden, Mike Mayock and the rest of Raider Nation wishes was just a bad dream. In reality it was beyond a nightmare.

But the star receiver could have found himself connected to the Bay Area once again this upcoming season. After watching the 49ers win the NFC West and make it all the way to Super Bowl LIV, the Seattle Seahawks reportedly had "internal discussions" about signing Brown. When it comes to his talent, Brown is a game-changer and quarterback Russell Wilson reportedly expressed he "would love" to play with Brown.

On paper, any QB would love to throw passes to Brown. From 2013 through 2018, Brown averaged 114 receptions, 1,524 receiving yards and 11 touchdowns. That would have been a big boost for Russell and the Seahawks. Well, aside from the constant headaches of dealing with AB's antics.

For now, it appears DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett will continue to be Wilson's top targets. That is, if Brown actually is retiring. Monday's "news" marked the first time Brown announced his retirement ... since September.

So, maybe Brown really is done with football after last season's tumultuous year. Or maybe he'll be a Seahawk. Or maybe he'll find a reason to yell about Madden ratings.
