Anger-management training for Janikowski

Raiders kicker Sebastian Janikowski,who was charged with multiple misdemeanors in a 2011 nightclub incident, agreed to court-ordered anger management and substance abuse classes on Wednesday.

The ruling was issued in Walnut Creek Superior Court and reported by the Contra Costa Times.

The 33-year-old Pro Bowler must perform 30 hours each of anger management and substance abuse classes, according to the report. Additionally, he was ordered to complete 30 hours of community service.

The court ordered him to stay away from Syrena Nicholson. Janikowski was accused of he grabbing and shoving her in September 2010.

Last May, the Contra Costa County District Attorney's Office filed misdemeanor charges of battery and false imprisonment against Janikowski, charged that could have
resulted in a maximum 18 months in jail and a 3,000 fine.

Janikowski's 63-yard field goal against the Broncos in the first game of the 2011 season tied Tom Dempsey's record for the longest field goal in NFL history.

Janikowski was the Raiders' first-round pick in 2000.
