
A.J. Jenkins says he doesnt read what is written about himon the internet. Coach Jim Harbaugh, speaking about the rookie receivers as awhole at rookie minicamp said that while they looked goodout of shape isthe bad news.Jenkins said he has been working very hard to be ready fortraining camp. In addition to studying the playbook like crazy, Jenkins saidhis off-season training program was pretty intense.Im definitely trying to be in shape as much as I can,Jenkins said. Im just trying to do my part so I can go out there and justplay ball.Jenkins has yet to take up Hall of Famer Jerry Rice on hisoffer to run the famous Hill. Veterans introduced Rice to the Hill, a horsetrail above Edgewood Park in SanCarlos, his rookie season, and thetwo-and-one-half-mile trail became a central part of his training regimen.Rice reached out to Jenkins on Twitter in May to run theHill with him, and Jenkins said at rookie minicamp that he would do it. Although he may not have run with Rice yet, Jenkins stillhas tried to learn from the 49ers current wide receivers.I talked to them over the offseason kind of to seewhat they do to kind of get their bodies right for camp, Jenkins said. Ivetaken a lot of advice from (Randy Moss and Mario Manningham), and even (Michael)Crabtree and Ted Ginn, so Ive really just been like a sponge.
