Pro Bowl left tackle Joe Staley acknowledged – and downplayed -- a reported argument earlier this month with tight end Vernon Davis during his weekly radio appearance.
“This happens all the time. We get into arguments,” Staley said Thursday on “Lamont & Tonelli” on 107.7-FM The Bone.
“I think it’s all heightened right now because we’re not winning games right now, and there’s controversy and everything like that.”

Staley did not identify Davis as the teammate with whom he got into a heated exchange on the Tuesday following the Oct. 4 game against the Green Bay Packers. But when one of the hosts jokingly invited Staley and Davis to join them for a lunch to “break bread,” Staley played along.
On Thursday, Davis said he did not recall any argument with Staley – an incident that was reported or confirmed by multiple media outlets, including CSNBayArea.com. Davis denied reports that he "called out" quarterback Colin Kaepernick, which led to the exchange with Staley. Davis, Staley and Kaepernick are all team captains.
