49ers sign star CFL wide receiver

UPDATE (Thursday at 2:15pm) -- The 49ers on Thursday officially announced the signing of wide receiver Eric Rogers to a two-year deal.

SANTA CLARA -- The 49ers on Wednesday reportedly agreed to contract terms with a Canadian Football League star wide receiver.

Eric Rogers signed a two-year contract that contains a $125,000 signing bonus, according to the NFL Network.

In his second season with the Calgary Stampeders, Rogers caught 87 passes for 1,448 yards and 10 touchdowns. He led the CFL in receiving yards and tied for the top spot with touchdowns.

Rogers, who is listed at 6 foot 3, 210 pounds, attended Cal Lutheran, an NCAA Division III school. He set the school record as a senior with 91 receptions for 1,298 yards and 18 touchdowns.

Rogers had 13 offers from NFL teams, ESPN reported.
