SANTA CLARA -- The 49ers on Tuesday signed cornerback Chris Campbell and running back Brandon Wilds.
The club waived offensive linemen Willie Beavers and Dillon Day.
Campbell, a 2018 sixth-round pick of the Arizona Cardinals from Penn State, spent last season on the New Orleans Saints’ practice squad. He did not appear in a regular-season game. The Saints released him on Thursday.

Campbell joins the 49ers’ 90-man roster and could see playing time Thursday night when the 49ers close out the preseason against the Los Angeles Chargers at Levi’s Stadium.
Wilds rejoins the 49ers, who had eight carries for 32 yards earlier in the preseason.
Day and Beavers played just five snaps apiece in the 49ers’ preseason game Saturday night against the Kansas City Chiefs.
