SANTA CLARA -- The 49ers' secondary looked like it took another blow Sunday when it lost safety Adrian Colbert to a leg injury early in the second half against the Los Angeles Rams.
Colbert remarkably walked back out on the field a few minutes after he left on a cart. Apparently, the X-rays and mobility tests came back negative on him.
Both Colbert and Ahkello Witherspoon jumped up for a deep pass intended for Rams wide receiver Brandin Cooks. That's when Colbert came down awkwardly on his right leg.

While Colbert was down on the field being attended to, his cousin, 49ers wide receiver Marquise Goodwin, knelt by his side, as did a few other 49ers teammates.
The 49ers' young secondary already has been bitten by the injury bug. Both cornerbacks Richard Sherman and Jimmie Ward were inactive for the game. Witherspoon, K’Waun Williams and Colbert have been nursing injuries since the beginning of the season.
