11-Alex Smith: Completed 20 of 38 passes for 267 yards with two touchdowns and one interception. His passer rating was 81.8. He also rushed seven times for 17 yards, including three kneeldowns at the end of the game for minus-1 yard. . . .He was on the sideline for one play in the first quarter for a "wildcat" play that never happened. With Kendall Hunter ready to receive the direct snap, the 49ers were called for a false start . . . While Smith was not always on target with his throws, his receivers got their hands on seven of his first eight incomplete throws. . . Missed wide-open receiver Michael Crabtree in second quarter for what would've been a 16-yard touchdown in second quarter. . . He got away from pressure on first play of fourth quarter but threw his second career interception in the red zone as linebacker Daryl Washington picked him off.Running backs
21-Frank Gore: Started at halfback and played 56 of the 49ers' 87 snaps in the game. He gained 88 yards on 24 carries. He caught one pass for 6 yards. With a secure lead, he was able to rest for the final four offensive possessions of the game.
24-Anthony Dixon: Saw his most extensive play time of the season with 10 snaps on offense. Eight of his snaps came on the 49ers' final drive of the game. . . He gained 32 yards on seven rushes. . . . 32-Kendall Hunter: He played 20 saps in the game, and carried 11 times for 27 yards, and also caught one pass for 15 yards. . . . Was a bit slow in recognizing one pass-rusher to pick up, but typically did an acceptable job in pass protection.
44-Moran Norris: Inactive (coaches' decision). He is healthy, but he has not suited up since sustaining a fractured left fibula Sept. 18 against the Cowboys. . . . He is likely to be active for Thursday's game against the Baltimore Ravens.
49-Bruce Miller: Started at fullback and played 13 snaps before leaving with a concussion. He caught one pass for 5 yards, but sustained a concussion in the second quarter and did not return. . . Called for false start on first drive. . . . Made block of Daryl Washington in the hole to help spring Gore for a 14-yard gain. . . He sustained a concussion when Cardinals safety Adrian Wilson delivered a left shoulder to Miller's head at the end of a 5-yard reception late in the first quarter. . . . He entered for two more plays over the next couple of drives before leaving the game for good. . . . His status is questionable for Thursday's game against the Baltimore Ravens. 10-Kyle Williams: He played a season-high 32 snaps. Caught a career-high five passes for 54 yards and a touchdown. . . He was targeted five times, and he and Alex Smith hooked up every time. . . . Exploited mismatch against outside linebacker Sam Acho to pick up 13 yards on crossing route. . . . Kept chains moving with 11-yard reception on a fourth-and-2 play in the second quarter. 15-Michael Crabtree: Started at flanker and played 62 snaps. He caught seven passes for 120 yards, mostly against rookie cornerback Patrick Peterson . . . . Ran a stop-and-go to beat Peterson for a 38-yard gain on third down in first quarter. . . Picked up a third-and-7 with a 13-yard catch on Peterson. . . 17-Braylon Edwards: Started at split end and played 32 snaps. He did not catch a pass. . . Had first pass of the game in his hands but Cardinals cornerback Richard Marshall jarred it out of his grasp. . . . Had a high pass in end zone from Smith go through his hands for an incompletion at end of the first quarter. . . He leveled safety Rashad Johnson on a run play in which Gore gained 8 yards. . . . Coach Jim Harbaugh said after the game that Edwards is still not 100 percent after missing four games earlier this season with torn knee cartilage. 19-Ted Ginn: He played 16 snaps in the game. He did not catch a pass. He averaged just 4.0 yards on four punt returns. He averaged 21 yards on two kickoff returns.Tight ends
46-Delanie Walker: He played a season-high 66 snaps, as he saw an increase in action due to Miller's injury. . . . He had five passes thrown his way, but Walker did not catch a pass in the game. . . . Good block on outside linebacker O'Brien Schofield to open lane for Gore's 14-yard gain. 81-Justin Peelle: He played a season-high 37 snaps, most of which came at fullback after Miller was knocked from the game. He received coaching from running backs coach Tom Rathman on the sideline to make the transition as seamless as possible. . . Made block on outside linebacker Clark Haggans to allow Gore to get to the outside and pick up 9 yards in second quarter.. . Gore followed him into the hole to pick up 2 yards on a fourth-and-1 play in the third quarter.
85-Vernon Davis: He started and played 83 snaps. He caught five passes for 67 yards. . . Dropped third-down pass on quick slant when he unnecessarily left his feet. . . . On third and 7, he made cornerback Michael Adams miss to pick up 8 yards and a first down. . . . Made 27-yard catch against safety Adrian Wilson in first quarter. Got shaken up on that play when he fell facemask first onto the ground and left the game for three plays. . . Would've had 20-yard pass gain but didn't get both feet inbounds along right sideline after running a wheel route out of the backfield. . . . Beat Johnson in coverage on corner route for 18-yard touchdown in the third quarter. That was Davis' 34th career score, a franchise record for touchdowns from a tight end.
