49ers lining up free-agent visits

SANTA CLARA -- The 49ers hosted one veteran free-agent visitor on Tuesday and reportedly have another lined up Wednesday.Cornerback Carlos Rogers, whom is considered the top free agent still available, was scheduled to visit with 49ers coaches and officials Tuesday night and Wednesday, according to an ESPN report.Rogers, a six-year veteran, has limited options with most of the teams in search of cornerbacks already filling those spots. The 49ers cut Nate Clements last week, and he immediately signed with the Cincinnati Bengals a reported two-year, 10.5 million deal with 6 million guaranteed.Rogers, a first-round pick in 2005, has started 68 games in his career. He missed four games last season with a hamstring injury. In 12 starts, Rogers recorded two interceptions and broke up 12 passes.The 49ers hosted a visit for New Orleans Saints veteran center Jonathan Goodwin, who was spotted entering the 49ers team office late Tuesday afternoon. Goodwin, 32, has been a starter on the Saints the past three seasons.David Baas, who started 16 games at center for the 49ers in 2010, signed with the New York Giants. Adam Snyder has been taking all the first-team snaps for the 49ers at center.Goodwin watched the entire 49ers practice from the sideline in street clothes. At one point was seen talking with 49ers president Jed York. There has been no contract agreement.
