SEATTLE — The 49ers have lost 10 consecutive games to the Seahawks. Even more painful for the longest-tenured 49ers player are the eight consecutive losses in Seattle.
“I just want to f---ing win here so bad,” left tackle Joe Staley said, following the 49ers’ 43-16 loss Sunday. “This is the one place . . . for some reason, this is like my Super Bowl every year, playing here.”
Staley stopped to make sure that his words were kept in proper context and he was interpreted correctly.

“You know what I mean? This game means a lot to me,” Staley said.
The 49ers (2-10) were never really in Sunday’s game. Seattle broke out to a 20-0 lead, and immediately extended their advantage to 27-3 within the first 16 seconds of the second half.

The 49ers outgained the Seahawks in total yards, 452 to 331. But the 49ers lost two fumbles and Seahawks linebacker Bobby Wagner intercepted a Nick Mullens pass and returned it 98 yards for a touchdown in the fourth quarter. The 49ers did not generate any takeaways.

“Yards are yards,” said Staley, who has played all 12 NFL seasons with the 49ers. “Points are what we’re after, obviously. We were able to move the ball because we were down so much.
“Guys are fighting, but at the end of the day, we play the game to win. We don’t play to gain yards. You play the game to score points.”
