SANTA CLARA -- The 49ers had three cornerbacks and three offensive linemen unavailable for practice Wednesday, the team announced.
But rookie wide receiver Dante Pettis appears to be closer to a return to action.
Coming off the team’s loss to the Green Bay Packers on Monday night, coach Kyle Shanahan paced the 49ers through a walk-through practice. The team was required to submit an estimation of the level of participation in which the players would have take part if it were a full practice.

Cornerbacks Jimmie Ward (hamstring), K’Waun Williams (shoulder) and Ahkello Witherspoon (concussion) were not able to participate in on-field work Wednesday. Also, offensive linemen Joe Staley, Weston Richburg and Mike Person are sidelined with knee injuries. In addition, receiver Pierre Garçon (shoulder and knee) is sidelined.
The 49ers did receive some good news, as Pettis has been cleared for limited work after missing two games with a knee injury.
