The 49ers made another under-the-radar move this week, grabbing available talent from outside the National Football League.
In addition to signing Calgary Stampeders wide receiver Eric Rogers, the team also signed offensive lineman Colin Kelly of the Ottawa Redblacks.
"We just signed two players out of the CFL that we were very high on," general manager Trent Baalke confirmed on 95.7 The Game on Friday.

Rogers, a star playmaker in the CFL, was the known signing. But the contract for Kelly was only reported north of the border. Baalke made it official, saying that unknown signing was "an offensive lineman that played his collegian at Oregon State, a guy by the name of Colin Kelly."
Kelly, 26, is listed at 6'5, 298 pounds on the Redblacks' official team website.
Kelly had a 20-minute workout with the 49ers on Dec. 27, 2015, after receiving interest from the Cleveland Browns, Minnesota Vikings and Philadelphia Eagles, according to The Ottawa Sun.

He spent a year on injured reserve (knee) with the Kansas City Chiefs as an undrafted free agent.
"I was getting more confidence each time," Kelly told the Sun. "The funny thing (about the workout with San Francisco) is I didn't feel like I did that well. Everybody is probably his own toughest critic. But I wasn't as nervous, that was like my fourth or fifth one so I kind of got how it was.
"I think I'm a better football player now (after being in the CFL). I gradually progressed. You always want to work on what you're not good at, what's seen as a weakness."
