NEW ORLEANS -- The 49ers' offense sputtered along in the fourth quarter, as they opened the exhibition season with a 24-3 loss to the New Orleans Saints.Fourth quarter recap
Quarterback Colin Kaepernick ended on a sour note, as he threw two interceptions in the fourth quarter.His first pick gave the Saints a scoring opportunity when he lofted a pass intended for Ronald Johnson into coverage. Cornerback Terrail Lambert intercepted the pass at the 49ers' 38-yard line.The Saints cashed in on the opportunity. Running back Chris Taylor supplied the Saints with a 24-3 lead on a 4-yard touchdown run with 8:33 remaining in the game.
