Matt McKivitz became famous around Morgantown for his signature caps, which feature different taxidermied animals that made him an unofficial mascot of the Mountaineers program.
He even traveled to road games with the unique headwear, making for interesting interactions with TSA agents.
“The real fun,” Matt told The Athletic's G. Allan Taylor, “is getting him through security at the airport. You’ll see the bag start going through the scanner, and then it stops. Then it backs up, goes again and stops. The TSA person just looks and looks, and the line just keeps getting longer and longer.”
