The 49ers did not extend qualifying offers to unrestricted free agents Anquan Boldin or Reggie Bush this week and will not receive any compensatory consideration if either player signs with another team, according to the NFL.
The 49ers are likely to receive a fourth-round compensatory selection in next year’s draft as a result of their loss of guard Alex Boone, who signed with the Minnesota Vikings this offseason. The 49ers did not sign any qualifying free agents.
Boone’s average pay of $6.6 million over the life of his contract with the Vikings places was 15th-highest among free agents who signed with new teams this offseason. The 49ers are in line for a fourth-round compensatory pick in the 2017 draft, according to OvertheCap.com. Next year, compensatory picks can be traded for the first time.

The 49ers did not offer Boldin or Bush one-year contracts for 110 percent of their salaries from last season. Any team that made a qualifying offer to an unrestricted free agent by the May 10 deadline has sole negotiating rights to the player if he remains unsigned after the opening of training camp in late-July.
Boldin was the 49ers’ leading receiver in each of the past three seasons since coming to the organization in a 2013 trade with the Baltimore Ravens. Boldin had back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons before seeing his production dip to 65 catches for 789 yards and four touchdowns last season. He earned $6 million last season in salary and bonuses.
Boldin, 35, a 13-year NFL veteran, won the Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year. Boldin ranks 12th all-time with 1,009 receptions and 17th with 13,195 receiving yards.
The 49ers could still re-sign Boldin. But the club has gone five weeks of the offseason program with a group of receivers consisting of Torrey Smith, Quinton Patton, Bruce Ellington, Jerome Simpson, DeAndrew White, DeAndre Smelter, Eric Rogers, Dres Anderson and DiAndre Campbell. The 49ers drafted Michigan State receiver Aaron Burbridge in the sixth round, and signed undrafted rookies Bryce Treggs (Cal) and Devon Cajuste (Stanford).

Bush carried just eight times for 28 yards and caught four passes for 14 yards while on a one-year, $2.4 million contract with the 49ers.
