The 49ers on Thursday responded to a suggestion from Reuben Foster’s ex-girlfriend that the organization tried to influence Tampa police after the alleged Nov. 24 incident at the team hotel.
"Even when I called the police, the 49ers came up there," Elissa Ennis said during an interview on ABC News. "I have pictures of the 49ers coming up there, trying to talk to the police and say I'm the same ex-girlfriend that sit up there and lied."
The 49ers released a statement Thursday morning in response to Ennis' comments: "The 49ers fully cooperated with authorities, assisted in locating Mr. Foster and in no way impeded their investigation.”

SIGN UP HERE Foster was arrested at the team hotel on a charge of domestic violence after Ennis called 911 room 627 at the Grand Hyatt Tampa Bay. The 49ers had security on the second and third floors of the hotel.
Foster spent the night in jail and was released on $2,000 bond the following day.
Following a separate incident, involving Foster and the same woman, Ennis testified under oath in May at a preliminary hearing in Santa County court that she gave false statements to police following an incident at Foster’s home in Los Gatos. The case against Foster was dismissed.
Ennis now says that she lied on the witness stand because she did not want to jeopardize Foster’s NFL career. He was a first-round draft pick of the 49ers in 2017. The 49ers released him the morning after the incident in Tampa. Washington claimed him off waivers. He is currently getting paid $51,400 a week while on the commissioner's exempt list.
