Shortly after the hiring was announced Thursday morning, the five-year pro took to Twitter to share his reaction.
"I love playing in offenses that are a pain in the a-- for teams to prepare for," Davis said. "Once a defense is questioning if they're prepared, they're dead."
Davis also called out a follower who was critical of Kelly, as well as the 49ers faithful, saying: "Our fans need to be getting in shape too."
While away from the 49ers, Davis has continued to insist that he will return to the team.

Earlier this season, he posted a photo of himself on Instagram in a 49ers home uniform with the message: "Keep that spot warm for ya boy."
After head coach Jim Tomsula was relieved of his duties following San Francisco's season finale, Davis updated fans, saying it was "guaranteed" that he would return.
Davis, 26, was a first-round pick by the 49ers in 2010. He started 71 games from 2010-2014 before sitting out the 2015 season.
He currently resides on the team's reserve/retired list, with the 49ers retaining his rights.
