
The 49ers made their first round of cuts on Saturday to near their 75-man roster limit before the Tuesday deadline.
The 49ers announced the releases of nine players, including veteran wide receiver Jerome Simpson.
The other players cut were wide receiver DiAndre Campbell, running back Kendall Gaskins, defensive lineman Darren Lake, kicker John Lunsford, linebacker Wynton McManis, offensive linemen Blake Muir and Ian Silberman, and cornerback Cleveland Wallace.

The 49ers also placed wide receiver Eric Rogers on season-ending injured reserve. Rogers is out for the year with a torn ACL.
