SANTA CLARA – Cornerback Jimmie Ward, coming off of two consecutive starts, is back on the injury report with a hamstring injury he sustained during practice on Thursday.
Ward did not practice Friday and is listed as questionable – along with six of his teammates – for the 49ers’ game Sunday against the Arizona Cardinals at Levi’s Stadium.
“He’s had a history with it, so he didn’t practice (Friday),” 49ers coach Kyle Shanahan said. “We’ll see how it feels on Sunday.”

SIGN UP HERE Ward has been bothered by hamstring issues in training camp the past two years.
Veteran cornerback Richard Sherman is also listed as questionable with a mid-calf strain. He sat out the past 1 ½ games, but returned to limited practice this week. Sherman’s contract calls for him to receive a $125,00 roster bonus for each game he is included among the active 46 players.
Left tackle Joe Staley returned to limited practice Friday, and appears to be on pace to play on Sunday. He sustained a knee injury in the second quarter last week against the Los Angeles Chargers and did not return. It appears tackle Mike McGlinchey (knee) and center Weston Richburg (knee) will also be available to play.
Shanahan placed the odds at 50-50 that wide receiver Marquise Goodwin will be available. Goodwin has battled hamstring and quadriceps issues.

The Cardinals' biggest injury concern is wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald, who is listed as questionable with hamstring and back issues. Fitzgerald has thrived against the 49ers in his career with 2,169 receiving yards and 17 touchdowns -- his most against any team.
