49ers 2020 NFL Draft grades: Fans give Javon Kinlaw, Brandon Aiyuk ‘A'

The 49ers didn't take the sexy names in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft, but they did pick two players who could have big roles right away.

After trading down to the No. 14 pick, the 49ers selected South Carolina defensive tackle Javon Kinlaw.

49ers general manager John Lynch and coach Kyle Shanahan passed on the chance to draft top wide receivers CeeDee Lamb and Jerry Jeudy when they took Kinlaw, but they had a good reason. Shanahan preferred Arizona State wideout Brandon Aiyuk, and the 49ers were able to get him after trading up from No. 31 to No. 25.

The Kinlaw and Aiyuk picks appear to have gone over well with 49ers fans.

Of the 2,146 voters, 50.4 percent gave the 49ers an "A" grade, and 39.6 percent gave them a "B."
