Warriors Household Ratings Up 122% Compared to 2014-15 Viewership
SAN FRANCISCO, CA (January 26, 2016) – CSN Bay Area (@CSNAuthentic), the home of “Authentic Bay Area Sports,” registered its highest-rated game telecast in the history of the network – a 16.08 TV household rating for its coverage of last night’s Golden State Warriors victory over the San Antonio Spurs. The telecast averaged approximately 399,508 households (SF DMA – San Francisco/Oakland/San Jose) for the entire game and posted a 17.24 peak rating during the 8 p.m. quarter hour (approximately 428,303 households). The previous rating high was the Oct. 3, 2010 San Francisco Giants’ NL West clinch game against the San Diego Padres (11.83).
CSN Bay Area Digital set a network record with 2.9 million minutes streamed and 66K live starts for the Warriors-Spurs game on CSNBayArea.com and via NBC Sports Live Extra, surpassing the Warriors-Celtics game on December 11, 2015 (2.1 million minutes streamed, 62K live starts).

The Warriors-Spurs game telecast was the highest-rated program of the day in households and key advertising demos: Adults 18-49 (8.54), Adults 25-54 (10.16), Men 18-49 (9.54), Men 25-54 (11.94), Women 18-49 (7.51) and Women 25-54 (8.36). In addition to the game ratings, CSN Bay Area posted significant household ratings for its signature shows Warriors Pregame Live (3.15, approximately 78,214 households & second-highest rated to date), Warriors Postgame Live (6.92, approximately 171,855 households) and SportsNet Central (2.79, approximately 69,200 households).

- The Warriors-Spurs game on CSN Bay Area (16.08) was the highest-rated program on television last night in the SF DMA. In the 7:30 p.m. – 10 p.m. time slot, the game telecast out-rated ESPN, ESPN2, KTVU, KGO, KPIX, KOFY, FS1, FS2, MLBN, NFLN, Pac-12, TBS and TNT combined (15.11);
- Year-to-date, Warriors average household ratings on CSN Bay Area is 8.38 (approximately 208,129 households), up +122% compared to the 2014-15 championship season viewership and is on pace to be the highest rated season ever for the team;
- Through 39 games, fans have consumed 42.8 million minutes of Warriors game on CSNBayArea.com and via NBC Sports Live Extra. Warriors streaming numbers are +531% compared to the same point in the 2014-15 season;
- CSN Bay Area’s signature shows Warriors Pregame Live (+92%) and Warriors Postgame Live (+155%) have posted impressive households gains compared to last season. Warriors Postgame Live is delivering a household rating average of a 5.15 (approximately 128,030 households);
- CSN Bay Area has out-delivered all six ESPN and TNT simulcasts head-to-head in the local market by an average of 100% in total audience; and
- Ratings in key ad demos have registered significant increases, including Adults 18-49 (+106%), Adults 25-54 (+112%), Men 18-49 (+79%), Men 25-54 (+90%), Women 18-49 (+155%) and Women 25-54 (+159%).
