SAN FRANCISCO, CA (November 18, 2015) – CSN Bay Area (@CSNAuthentic), the home of “Authentic Bay Area Sports,” registered its highest-rated Golden State Warriors telecast in the history of the network – an 8.65 TV household rating for its coverage of last night’s Warriors-Toronto Raptors game. The telecast averaged approximately 214,826 households (SF DMA – San Francisco/Oakland/San Jose) for the entire game and posted a 10.51 peak rating during the 9:45 p.m. quarter hour (approximately 261,182 households). The previous rating high was on April 20, 2015 when the network posted a 7.45 household rating for Warriors-New Orleans Pelicans Game 2 in the First Round of the 2015 NBA Western Conference Playoffs. Additionally, CSN Bay Area set a network record with 1.1 million minutes streamed for the Warrior-Raptors game telecast – on CSNBayArea.com and via NBA Sports’ Live Extra app – surpassing the Warriors-Brooklyn Nets game on Nov. 14, 2015 (877K minutes streamed).
The Warriors-Raptors game telecast was the highest-rated program during the market time period in households and key advertising demos: Adults 18-49 (4.37), Adults 25-54 (5.25), Men 18-49 (5.38) and Men 25-54 (6.70). In addition to the game ratings, CSN Bay Area posted high household ratings for its signature shows Warriors Postgame Live (7.20, approx. 178,903 households; new regular season high) and SportsNet Central (1.60).
Additional highlights from the season include:
- Year-to-date, Warriors average household ratings on CSN Bay Area are up 56% compared to 2014-15 regular season viewership (5.88, 2015-16 vs. 3.77, 2014-15);
- From a digital standpoint, fans have consumed 6.4 million minutes of Warriors game telecasts (11 games, YTD) streamed on CSNBayArea.com and via NBA Sports’ Live Extra app;
- Ratings in key advertising demos have posted increased numbers compared to 2014-15, including Adults 18-49 (+44%), Adults 25-54 (+51%), Men 18-49 (+38%), Men 25-54 (+43%), Women 18-49 (+53%) and Women 25-54 (+65%); and
- Warriors Pregame Live (+23%, 0.96 vs. 0.78) and Warriors Postgame Live (+108%, 4.20 vs. 2.02) have delivered significant rating gains compared to 2014-15.
