Warriors Gaming Squad to hold NBA 2K tournament for AAU basketball teams

Prior to the coronavirus, the summertime was when youth sports organizations, such as AAU, ramped up to give kids a place to compete and grow during their time off from school. Most of those leagues and organizations won't be happening this summer, but the Golden State Warriors and Warriors Gaming Squad are doing what they can to fill that void.

Warriors Gaming Squad announced on Friday an NBA2K tournament for AAU basketball teams who are unable to compete due to the coronavirus.

The Bay Area Showdown gives AAU teams a chance to compete against each other on the virtual hardwood for prizes such as Warriors Gaming Squad swag, money for their team and a 30-minute private training session with the Warriors Basketball Academy.

In a time when much of our normal lives have changed, it's innovation and creativity that can help get us through it.
