SAN DIEGO (APCSN) -- Saint Mary's suffered a stunning upset on the road in San Diego, as the Toreros knocked off the WCC's top team with a 74-66 victory.

The Gaels (22-5, 10-2) shot poorly, finishing the night 2-for-15 from beyond the 3-point arc. The host Toreros (6-21, 2-10) engineered the win behind 8-of-12 shooting from 3-point range.

Matt Dorr scored 15 of his season-high 17 points after halftime as San Diego rebounded from an 11-point deficit. The senior guard hit three 3-pointers in the second half, none more important than the trey at the 10:53 mark to put San Diego ahead forgood at 46-43.
It started a 19-5 run that gave the Toreros theirbiggest lead at 62-48. Fans stormed the court at the buzzer to celebrate the upset of the year on the West Coast.

Aussie import Mitchell Young led Saint Mary's with 24 points. Mickey McConnell added 21. The Gaels' only other conference loss came at Portland, an 85-70 setback in January.
The Toreros, who trailed 35-24 on McConnell's 3-pointer 26seconds into the second half, shot 66.7 percent in the final 20 minuteswhile holding the Gaels to just 41.2 percent.
Chris Manresa 's 24 points paced the Toreros, who outscored the Gaels 50-34 in the second half. Darian Norris had 15 for USD.
St. Mary's forward Rob Jones, who played two seasons for San Diegobefore transferring, was 0-for-6 from three-point range and finishedwith two points. Jones was hampered by a rib injury.
