SAN JOSE Newly acquired San Jose Shark Ian White will arrive in the Bay Area this afternoon. White wear 9, and is expected to dress tonight. Head Coach Todd McLellan says theyll keep it pretty simple for him: We won't ask him to do too much, just go out and play hockey tonight and then as practices add up, well be able to add him into more situations. We really believe hell fit in fine.

White will recognize some familiar faces on the team, having previously played with Dany Heatley, Kyle Wellwood and Jamal Mayers. Mayers has been White's teammate on three separate clubs - Toronto, Calgary and now San Jose.
Mayers had positive things to say about his on-again teammate, noting that .. hes a really smart player, moves the puck extremely well, has a lot of poise out there and for a smaller defenceman, he really plays well positionally, as well.
Kyle Wellwood, White's teammate in Calgary noted that ...with him, its smarts and his puck moving, he can jump in a play offensively and shoot it, and the style we play where we like to have the D catch the puck high slot and shoot, is where he can score from. He should fit in well.
San Jose Sharks Executive Vice President and General ManagerDoug Wilson announced that the club has recalled defensemen Justin Braunfrom the Worcester Sharks and Jason Demers from the Stockton Thunder.

Marc-Eduard Vlasic will not play tonight, suffering an upper body injury.
Braun has posted 21 points (nine goals, 21 assists) and 18 penalty minutes with Worcester. In 15 games with San Jose, Braun has nine points (one goal, eight assists).Demers has 17 points (two goals, 15 assists), 20 penalty minutes and a plus-nine rating in 53 games with the Sharks. In a separate transaction, forwardBenn Ferriero and defenseman Matt Irwin have been reassigned to Worcester.
The Sharks take on the Colorado Avalanche tonight at HP Pavilion. The Avs are 0-8-1 in their last 9 games, and also made a fair amount of trades yesterday. The Sharks are more concerned about their own game, but are not taking Colorado lightly.
