Antero Niittymaki was apparently ready to rejoin the San Jose Sharks' active roster on Friday, recovering from what is officially a lower-body injury that forced him to miss the previous five games. He tweaked the injury in practice, though, resulting in Carter Hutton serving as the backup in Boston while Niittymaki watched from the press box.Niittymaki classified his injury as minor, and appeared to be walking around fine.Hutton was recalled from Worcester due to teammate Alex Stalocks injury on Friday. Surprisingly, it wasnt the first time that Hutton dressed as an NHL backup. The UMass-Lowell product was signed by the Philadelphia Flyers AHL affiliate last season and was a one-game emergency backup to Brian Boucher on March 28.
