SHARKS PAGESHARKS VIDEOCSNBayArea.com staffThe San Jose Sharks GM Doug Wilson has announced the team will not bring back RW Jamal Mayers or C Scott Nichol next season.
The Sharks made the announcement on their official Twitter page Monday afternoon.
The Sharks also reported via Twitter that assistant coach Trent Yawney will be leaving the club to pursue a head coaching position.
Nichol, 35, played in 56 games for the Sharks last season, compiling four goals and three assists to go along with 50 penalty minutes.Mayers, 36, appeared in 78 games for the Sharks in his first and only season for San Jose, scoring three goals with 11 assists while serving 124 penalty minutes.
Mayers tweeted shortly after the anouncement:
"Sharks fans thanks for such great support this yr! Gonna miss playing in the tank as a Shark!"
