ESPN's Ric Bucher wrote that his source said that "completion of the deal is not imminent but that it has merit for both sides."
Igoudala (6-6, 207) can play shooting guard or small forward. Ellis is one of the league's most explosive players, averaging 24.1 points per game last season.
Ellis is scheduled to earn 11 million for each of the next three seasons. Iguodala will be paid 13.5 million next season; his contract increases by 1.2 million each of the next two years.
