However, the Times' report states that whether the team will remain in Sacramento "beyond next season remains to be decided."Sacramento mayor Kevin Johnson has worked to secure community support for a financial plan to rival the city of Anaheim's proposal.When asked to compare the options for the Kings between Sacramento and Anaheim, NBA commissioner David Stern said "that's for the committee to decide."But Stern did make it clear that the NBA is interested in finding a way to have the Kings stay in Sacramento."Mayor Johnson made certain representations about community support that he had secured," Stern said according to the Times. "The committee that it would be prudent to send an NBA task force out to Sacramento to verify those commitments. And that is now what's being done."
Larry Eldridge, the general manager of Comcast SportsNet California, the Kings' broadcast home, told the Sacramento Bee Thursday that the network is willing to increase the value of the broadcast contract with the Kings if they stay in Sacramento.
