A's starter Brett Anderson, placed on the disabled list Tuesday, will visit Dr. James Andres for a second opinion on his sore elbow, according to a report.

San Francisco Chronicle beat writer Susan Slusser tweeted that Anderson saw the A's team orthopedist and had an MRI, but that there will be no announcement from the team until Anderson's meeting with Andrews.

Anderson had his ERA jump to 4.00 following back-to-back rough outings against the Red Sox and Yankees. He allowed nine earned runs in 5.1 innings against the Yankees May 31 in Oakland and five runs in five innings Sunday in Boston. He reported pain in his elbow after that start.
